Travel Noire is not simply a travel website, but a movement among black millenials to explore the globe. Expounding on a unique mission and an overlooked demographic, this world culture and travel movement is designed to target the travel needs of young black adults through feasible tips, travel packages, and community forms.
How It All Began
Entrepreneur and founder Zim Ugochukwu was born in Minnesota, the daughter of Nigerian immigrants. As a young woman, she found herself plane-hopping across Asia, staying at luxury hotels on the cheap, and with no way of sharing her travel secrets with others. Thus, with the idea “that when beautiful design and great content meet, magic happens,” #TravelNoire was born. This online community utilizes the experience of curators living in countries around the world whose goal it is to inspire others to get outside their comfort zone to visit amazing places around the world. Through a hashtag you can see young black adults traveling the world and collecting experiences, inspiring each other to take and leap of faith and engage the world around us.
From Webpage to Inspiration
The Noire Manifesto has helped travelers from all walks of life experience destinations they never thought possible. The Manifesto promises three things – to help readers earn at least one free international flight, to teach them how to work from anywhere, and to “live a phenomenal life.” In this way, average people – those with limited budgets and a limited amount of vacation days – have been able enjoy amazing experiences on all seven continents.
In addition to informative articles and videos, Travel Noire’s website offers customized travel itineraries and group trips. There are also resources available for those planning to move abroad permanently. #TravelNoire has helped to connect relevant businesses and services with this niche travel community through their partnership program.
Whether your interest is in exploring places of interest near your home town or discovering the world’s most exotic destinations, Travel Noire has something for you.
