Glitz, glamour and the famous red carpet all added up to the 69th Emmy Awards show in hazy-hot Los Angeles Sunday evening. Funny man Stephen Colbert hosted the annual show that recognizes excellence in television and emerging media. Handsome Anthony Anderson was one of the first stars to hit the event. He knew he looked suave in a white tux, white shirt and black bow-tie Armani-style. Anderson chatted with Laverne Cox who stood statuesque in a Naeem Kahn “liquid-metallic” silver gown.
The annual Emmy show is a huge one that celebrities take hours to get primped and pretty for. People magazine followed several famous stars to see how they get Emmy-ready. Oprah, Uzo Aduba and Gabrielle Union gave fans a sneak peak before their red carpet entrance. Ms Union took our breath away when she debuted her black locks as “big, bold and au naturale.” Tracee Ellis Ross stunned in a belted Chanel haute couture long-sleeved gown with hand-sewn crystals and feathers. Again, the main shade of the evening focused around the perfect neutral of silver metal/gray.
Singer/actress Anika Noni Rose seemed to float about in a delicate pink and silver ball gown. Her hair was pulled back off her face into a high curly bun. She looked ballerina-beautiful. Check out her photo and others here in wall-to-wall snapshots from the UK’s Daily Mail. Viola Davis looked delicious in an orange sorbet-colored gown and a sophisticated updo. Zoe Kravetz appeared angelic in a color-blocked, feathered gown. She probably wore the shortest cropped hair at the entire gathering and nailed it. We didn’t catch any malfunctions or ugly outfits. Well, okay, there was a bizarre gown worn by Mandy Moore.
Overall, most stars delivered an air of fashion elegance to the 69th Emmy Awards show.
