Gorgeous Oscar-winning movie star Lupita Nyong’o is celebrating her fourth Vogue magazine cover. As humble as this beauty is, it’s worth noting that Lupita and Rihanna now each have the most Vogue covers than any other black celebrity. Nyong’o is ringing in 2018 with the January cover and looks resplendent as she elegantly strikes a yoga pose atop a surfboard. Check her out here at Vogue.
The actress, born in Mexico to Kenyan parents and raised in Kenya, gave an interesting interview to the famous fashion bible Vogue, and we learned a lot about this very bright, impressive 34-year-old woman. Since she is well-sought-after in the movie industry, Nyong’o doesn’t get a lot of free time to just kick back. She admits being addicted to the popular TV series Game of Thrones, enjoys making salads and going out with friends for oysters.
Nyong’o exudes a playful and adventurous spirit, unafraid to try new things. For example, she has been taking pole dancing classes to experience the energy and acrobatics of the full-body workout. She also stays in fantastic shape by exercising with a professional trainer who visits her Brooklyn apartment several times a week.
The movie roles Nyong’o accepts often demand strong physical action, and her latest performance will come via superhero status as the Dora Milaje warrior Nakia in Marvel Studio’s Black Panther. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and due out in February.
Coconut oil is her “vanity mainstay.” Learn more about Nyong’o’s favorite things here. The star is also active on Twitter and is one of the brave Hollywood women who have launched the Time’s Up campaign to fight sexual harassment. Nyong’o is very private about her romantic life and politely tells Vogue, “That’s the one area that I really like to hold close to my heart.”
