Although she has hinted at it for several episodes on the family reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, no one saw this one coming so soon. On Wednesday, June 21st, Kim Kardashian West announced that her new beauty line KKW would drop, and it has. There was something else, however, that also grabbed headlines across social media: Kim and rap star husband Kanye West are about to expand their family by using a surrogate at a total cost of $113,000. The adorable family currently includes daughter North, 4 and son Saint, 18-months. Kim has told North she wants to give her a baby sister. TMZ.com broke the story with an eye-popping headline that screamed:
KIM AND KANYE HIRE SURROGATE FOR 3RD KID
Kim has spoken openly about the condition she suffers from that makes a third pregnancy a high-risk journey. According to the Mayo Clinic, placenta accreta is serious because “blood vessels and other parts of the placenta grow too deeply into the uterine wall.” TMZ appears to know lots of details about Kim and Kanye’s surrogacy plans, listing several stipulations for the woman who will carry the baby or babies. The surrogate is believed to have been chosen through a surrogate agency, but no one has revealed her age, name or where she lives. For example, the surrogate is not allowed to smoke, drink or take drugs during the pregnancy. She must also abstain from eating raw fish and cannot dye her hair. The surrogate will receive $45,000 in 10, $4,500 monthly installments. If there are multiple fetuses, the surrogate gets $5k for each additional child. In April of 2016, Kim also talked about using a surrogate on sister Khloe’s TV show Kocktails With Khloe. Check it out here.
Kim Kardashian West turns 37 in October. Fans are excited to see what unusual name the celebrity couple might choose for their third baby.
